Electromagnetic Clutch and Brake Units

Clutch and brake designs suited to full range of general industrial machinery

These units provide excellent performance thanks to intelligent clutch and brake designs suited to the full range of general industrial machinery. In addition to the 101/CS (clutch) and 111 (brake) models, which share the same basic design, we also provide the CSZ (clutch) and BSZ (brake) models, which greatly reduce assembly time for gap adjustments and the like by using a construction that unitizes all parts.

Applications :

Printing machines/Bookbinding machines/Food machinery/Packaging machinery/Weaving machinery

125 Models (Clutches and brakes)

These are anti-drip clutches and brakes that have split-shaft constructions of clutch and brake within a light alloy housing.Power is output from the input shaft continuously to the output shaft. The output shaft is braked when clutch current is shut off and the brake is energized in response. These models come with either steel plate or cast (E type) mounting bases. Mounting is simple, and service life is long. Basic Specifications Clutch/brake torque : 2.4 N・m to 160 N・m Operating temperature : -10℃ to 40℃ Backlash : Zero

111 Models (brakes)

These are thin brakes with the same basic designs as clutches. They have the same excellent performance as clutches, particularly excellent response, and are at their best in rapid stopping of loads. Choose the optimal model from among the three types of armature assemblies, which have different mounting shapes. Basic Specifications Clutch torque : 5 N・m to 320 N・m Operating temperature : -10℃ to 40℃ Backlash : Zero

121(20G) Types (Clutches and brakes)

These are open-mounted clutches and brakes that have through-shaft constructions of clutch and brake outside a light alloy drum.Power is output from the input hub continuously to the output shaft. The output shaft is braked when clutch current is shut off and the brake is energized in response. The construction holds up well under radial loads due to a wide bearing span, so it can be used under high tension when mounted with V pulleys, spur gears or the like. Thanks to the through-shaft construction, output is available at both ends of the shaft, so many mechanism layouts are possible, including using both ends in split driving or mounting a detection disc or the like on one end. Basic Specifications Brake torque: 5 N・m to 320 N・m Operating temperature : -10℃ to 40℃ Backlash : Zero

126 Models Clutch/Brake Units - Motor-coupled Type

The input shaft of the 125 models of clutch/brake unit are connected directly to general-purpose three-phase motors. The output shaft can be repeatedly started and stopped without stopping the motor, enabling higher frequency intermittent operation compared to turning the motor on and off.Chose either the base type or flange type of machinery mounting. Flange mountings have the same shape mounting surface as general-purpose flange motors, so they can be unitized with speed reducers. Basic Specifications Brake torque: 5 N・m to 80 N・m Operating temperature : -10℃ to 40℃ Backlash : Zero

CBW Models Clutch/ Brake Units - Speed Reducer-Integrated Type

These models mount a clutch and brake on the input shaft of a worm reducer to provide output from the speed reducer. The input is transmitted from a V pulley by belt. The V pulley at the input is installed as standard, so simply connect it to a drive with a belt and install the speed reducer to complete the mounting. No troublesome centering or processing is needed. Self-inertia is kept low by integrating the unit, so the efficiency of starting and stopping is good. It can be combined with a speed changer for a wide range of speed changes, and excellent performance can be achieved in many applications, such as 360°rotation stop of the output shaft. Basic Specifications Brake torque: 5 N・m to 40 N・m Operating temperature : -10℃ to 40℃ Backlash : Zero

CMW Models Clutch/Brake Units - Motor/Speed Reducer-Integrated Type

These are models that combine a clutch/brake, worm reducer and motor to drive the input of a CBW model that unitizes a clutch/brake and worm reducer by a motor via a coupling.Concentrating the functions of the drive unit means a smaller installation footprint and eliminates the task of processing the mount and the like. Since the output shaft is simply engaged to the load, handling is easy. Basic Specifications Brake torque: 5 N・m to 40 N・m Operating temperature : -10℃ to 40℃ Backlash : Zero

121(10G) Types (Double clutches)

These share the same basic structure as the 121-[ ]-20 type clutch/brake units. They are double-clutch units that have a through-shaft structure and place clutches (101-[ ]-15 types) at both ends of the drum. The hub may be used as the input for two-stage speed-change/forward-reverse operation, or the shaft may be used as the input for power distribution or the like. Select the input method that works best for you. Just as with the 121-[ ]-20, the construction holds up well under radial loads due to a wide bearing span, so it can be used under high tension when mounted with V pulleys, spur gears or the like. Basic Specifications Brake torque: 5 N・m to 320 N・m Operating temperature : -10℃ to 40℃ Backlash : Zero

122 Models (Double clutches/brakes)

These are double-clutch/brake units unlike any other that combine two clutches (101-[ ]-15) with a brake (111-[ ]-12) in a compact form factor. They provide high-precision positioning and applied control of complex operations from a single unit. The hub is used as the input for two-stage speed-change/fixed position stopping/high-precision forward-reverse operation. The output shaft is braked when clutch current is shut off and the brake is energized in response. Basic Specifications Brake torque: 5 N・m to 160 N・m Operating temperature : -10℃ to 40℃ Backlash : Zero
